Bengaluru: A 32-year-old man allegedly beat his wife of a housewife to death before hanging herself from the ceiling fan in their home in Byadarahalli, West Bengaluru on Sunday afternoon.
V Manjunath, lathe operator from Sathanur in Kanakapura, and M Roja, 28, from Malavalli in Mandya, married four years ago.
They reported often fought over alcohol, his family told the police.
“They shifted to a rented house in Tigalarapalya earlier this year.
Manjunath allegedly defeated Roja regularly,” police said.
They added: “On Sunday, evening, the neighbors heard Manjunath and Roja fight and jagged Roja and shouted.
At night, the neighbor warns the police control room that the main door is blocked from inside and the couple does not respond to the knock.” An investigative officer said: “We found Manjunath hanging and Roja lay dead on the floor.
There was proof of Roja who was attacked.”
