Pune: Ahmednagar police, in connection with the Military Intelligence Unit (MI) from the South Command of the Army, on Sunday, arrested a 20-year-old student on a positive accusation as an army officer in Bhingar Cantonment.
He was intercepted by the army at the gate of the Mechanical Infantry Resimental Center at around 11:30 a.m.
The police said Mahesh Jagtap came from Rahata Tehsil and was in the second year of Bicya’s degree courses in private universities in Ahmednagar.
“As long as it was questioned, he said his girlfriend asked him to get a job in the Indian army within six months if he wants to marry him .
“Jagtap made the I-card forging soldiers and a letter of appointments.
He then told his parents and relatives that he had joined the Indian army and even distributed sweets.
However, his girlfriend asked him to send photos of uniformed units,” Dishmukh said.
“On Sunday morning, he wore a uniform without medals and a symbol.
The soldiers at the MIRC gate intercepted him.
He showed them identity cards but could not give the right answer to the next question.

The police have registered the case against it under the 140 section (wearing clothes or carrying a token used by a soldier, sailor, or pilot – anyone, does not become a soldier), 420 (cheating), and cheating purposes).
The police said Jagtap came from a humble background and worked as officers with private companies while simultaneously pursuing studies.
His parents are farmers.
The police have recovered motorbikes, fake identity cards intelligence agencies (IB), and other false documents from ownership.
