Chennai: An unknown man cheats two children, who are alone at home and fled with six sovereign gold jewelry and 10,000 Rs in Avadi on Saturday.
He got into the house who claimed to be his father’s colleague from who their father borrowed Rs 10,000.
Police source said Bharath Raj, 12 and Kesavan, 10, son of Narayanan, 42, from Konambedu, Avadi.
While Narayaan is a tailor, their mother Thamzhil Selvi was employed in a private company.
Children are usually left at home during the day.
On Saturday afternoon, a man approached the children told them that their father asked him to take the money in Almirah, because he had to pay it.
Before the children can remind their father, the man took the key to them and issued Rs 10,000 and six sovereign gold jewelry from Almirah.
Children told one of their neighbors, who then told their father.
Based on complaints from Narayanan, the police launched hunting for crime.
It can be remembered that on August 24, an unknown man broke into the house in Thirumullaivoyal and escaped with 10 sovereign gold jewelry posing to become a Covid volunteer.
He also cheats children alone at home.
