Gurugram: The MCG Sanitation Department has submitted a budget proposal for almost RS 574 Crore for the financial year of 2022-23, looking for a 90% increase in the allocation of funds during the current fiscal.
The department is allocated Rs 299 Crore in the Fiscal Year 2021-22 for health and sanitation costs.
Toi has learned that most of the sanitation costs sought for the next financial year are to clear the legacy waste from the TPA Bandhwari site, pursue deadlines in July 2022.
The department has submitted that it will require Rs 248.95 Crore to clean and process waste.
From RS 573.74 Crore, the department has proposed to spend 42 crore rs on the construction and disassembly (C & D) waste, a little increased from this fiscal 40 crore RS.
The budget proposal will be submitted before the MCG house at a special meeting for final approval.
“This year, we have submitted an increase in the budget for sanitation because we had to clean and process legacy waste at the TPA Bandhwari location in July 2022, which is about 43% of the total budget proposed for the financial year 2022-23,” said an official MCG , which doesn’t want to be named.
“The remaining funds will be spent on salaries of sanitation workers, payments to ecogreen etc.
This is the proposed budget and will be discussed at home meetings with council members and officials, who will take the final decision,” he said.
According to the proposal, the cost of the Sanitation Department’s labor is estimated to cost around Rs 106.67 Crore.
The sanitation burden on the gathering of door waste to doors and tractor trolleys is estimated at Rs 111 Crore, while the proposed budget for the cost of Gaushala and wild animals is Rs 33.16 Crore.
Two tenders of the civic body floated to clean and process the inheritance waste on the TPA Bandhwari website has been detained by the department of the urban local body in the field that MCG does not take administrative approval from competent authority.
