New Delhi: MP BJP Varun Gandhi on Monday said the murder case under the IPC Part 302 must be submitted to those involved in the death of farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri, emphasizing that farmer protests must be treated with restraint and patience.
In a letter to the Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, Gandhi also demanded the CBI investigation in the case in a way that was bound by time and RS 1 Crore compensation to members of the farmer’s family who died.
Eight people killed on Sunday when violence erupted during the protest of farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri, claiming the lives of farmers and BJP workers.
Two SUVs were burned by farmers who were angry at the clash near Banbirpur at Lakhimpur Kheri, the most bloody violence incident since the protest of the agricultural law eneciched last year.
Explaining the incident as “heartbreaking”, Gandhi said it had caused sadness and anger among the people in the country.
Underpointing that “nervous brother farmers are our own citizens, three BJP MP from Uttar Pradesh said they suffered because of several problems and protesting under their democratic rights.” We have to deal with them with great restraint and patience.
