Bhubaneswar: The State Finance Department has begun training in preparing an annual budget for the Fiscal Year 2022-23 with pre-budget supervision meetings with various departments, the main process in making budgets, held on Wednesday.
Different departments have submitted their budget proposals on December 15, showing the funds needed for various plans and programs in the next financial year.
“In the pre-budget meeting, the Ministry of Finance officials discussed proposals with other senior department officials.
Thus, the provisions of funding will be made in the annual budget,” said a senior government official.
The possibility of a central aid level to be received under various schemes sponsored by the center and run by him was also discussed at the meeting, the official added.
The Ministry of Finance will soon hold a pre-budget consultation meeting with experts from various sectors.
Like previous years, it will begin to seek advice from the general public and stakeholders, and can cover some of them in the budget.
The source of the Ministry of Finance said the budget for the financial year of 2022-23 will be submitted in the assembly in February.
It is possible to focus on achieving sustainable development goals through faster poverty reduction, increasing farmers’ income through plant diversification and direct benefit transfers, providing pipe drinking water to all and making affordable health facilities available.
