Latur: The NDRF team, helicopters and boats were deployed on Tuesday to save people who were stranded in Barrage, villages and by the riverbank at Maharashtra when heavy rains cross the district all day.
While 25 of the 40 people stranded on the banks of the Manjara River in Sarsa Village had been saved by boat, an attempt to get a 15 break for safety, an official said.
He added that three people stranded on a river basin in the area used by Deshmukh in Tehsil Renapur had been saved.
Three employees from the State Irrigation Department were trapped in a series of Ghansargaon villages, and the National Disaster Response (NDRF) team (NDRF), as well as helicopters, had been brought in the help of local personnel with rescue efforts, said Sakeb District Disaster Manager said.
