Amsterdam: Dutch on Monday said it would make it easier for Covid-19 limitations to allow trips to all European Union countries, including some of the forbidden for Dutch travelers due to high infection rates.
At the same time, the authorities say they will extend the ban on multiple festivals, which are considered too risky.
On Tuesday, the recommendation of the Dutch trip will no longer be based on the level of infection that has made a vacation to Spain and Portugal almost impossible, said the Ministry of Health in a statement.
The decision was made possible by a relatively high level of vaccination 50% in block 26 countries and hospital occupancy rates that can be managed in the Netherlands, he said.
This step places Dutch in line with the European Union travel agreement.
From 27 July 27 negative advice “will only be issued for countries with a newly worrying virus variant that has not been widespread in the Netherlands,” he said.
Tourists aged 12 and older must provide negative test results from August 8 when returning to the Netherlands from the European Union which is considered to have an increased risk of infection, he said.
The Dutch government reached up restrictions on dance clubs, music and restaurant festivals on July 9, only two weeks after they raised due to a surge in Covid-19 infection among young adults, most of the Delta variants.
Large-scale festivals will not be permitted in August, the government said.
The decision about the Dutch Formula One Grand Prix in Zandvoort from September 3-5, which had been postponed once, was estimated on August 13.
