Akash Das Nayak, Head of the Government’s Mo College initiative, spoke to Minati Singha about transforming universities to become higher education instituteshow who has the progress of the Initiative of College MO so far? It was officially launched by Minister of Naveen Patnik in March.
As many as 755 government and assisted government universities, the level of universities and professional institutions have been included in the scheme and MO college committees have also been formed to ensure execution.
What will be your next action? The next main task is to connect alumni with colleges and universities that they pinkle.
Many of them hold a plot position in their workplace or in the community and want to restore or support their alma mater.
We want to bring everything under the college umbrella mo.
We also develop cellular applications, which will help connect it easily.
How can someone contribute to the development of his college? There are three types of contributions – finance, academic or intellectual and industrial connected.
For any financial contribution, the state government will double the number to the Institute concerned.
Former students can provide academic support by taking online classes or participating in webinars or providing expert advice as part of our ‘Alumni’ program that each college plans to do once a month.
The third and final contribution is through the industrial connected through which alumni will hold their college students get exposure.
What is the main field of concern? I felt there was no talent in Odisha, but there was a lack of confidence in young people because there was no proper guidance in terms of counseling training and skills.
We have planned to establish polishing schools to develop soft skills and personalities.
Our children are full of energy.
So it’s very important to give them the right exposure.
Mo College aims to do that.
In addition, we also focus on digitizing institutions and in other steps to attract students to libraries and playgrounds.
Mo School, which is an alumni connection initiative for school, has received a very good response.
Do you think Mo College’s progress is less than the first? There is no possible comparison between the two initiatives because their goals are the same – to restore the alma mater.
School Mo starts four years before us and has done it very well.
We learn from them and take help anywhere needed.
