Mysuru: A nine-year-old boy who was kidnapped for RS 4-Lakh RS on Wednesday was found killed and his body was found in the bushes in the Taluk Hunsur from Mysuru District on Thursday.
Police Supervisor R Chethan said Karthik, son of Trader Nagaraj from Hanagod in Hunsur, was kidnapped on Wednesday and found a gap of his throat on Thursday afternoon.
The investigation was happening to determine where the boy was kidnapped, where he was stored, when he was killed and people were involved in evil.
A suspect has been detained in this case, SP said.
The police claimed that four more people, including two women, had been detained because they were questioned.
A woman is said to have come from the same village which is very monitoring of traders’ activities.
Karthik, a class IV student, lost after he left home to buy crackers from a village shop on Wednesday night.
His father Nagaraj received a call from an unregistered telephone number around 7:30 p.m.
and was informed that his son had been kidnapped.
Traders rushed home to find his son missing.
In the second call, the kidnapper was suspected of demanding Rs 4 lakh to free the boy before turning off the phone.
Nagaraj, assisted by villagers, looking for his son in the nearest area before approaching the police at night.
Senior police officers interrogated several suspicious people in the village and held one of them.
On the information, the police reached the crime scene – a village called Kunterikere – where his body recovered from the nearest bushes.
The source said the defendant, maybe from the same village or neighbor, maybe the Nagaraj merchant.
A source said the kidnappers might have developed cold feet after making a ransom calling and removing the boy because of the fear that their identity could be disclosed.
