Ghaziabad: Four men were arrested on Friday from the gate of Sihani for allegedly robbing Rs 1 lakh trader when he went to his house after closing his shop.
According to the police, the defendant was identified as MD.
Sharis (20), Chotu aka Mohit (19), Chanda Giri (21) and Shareek (24), all from Ghaziabad.
Avanish Kumar, Circle Officer (CO), Police Station Gate Sihani, said that on Thursday at around 11:45 a.m., the police team held a routine inspection of vehicles on the road near the train station.
“The defendant looked roaming near the area and when our team asked them, they failed to give a satisfying answer.
Then, the fourth was taken to the police station where they told the police that they were looking for the target to seize him,” he said.
During the interrogation, the defendant said that on October 19 (Tuesday), they had robbed traders, Balkrishan, in the Gate of Sihani.
The police have recovered Rs 60,000 from ownership accused along with illegal pistols and live cartridges.
The four were ordered below Section 392 (robbery) IPC and relevant parts of ACT Act.
They were sent to Judicial detention after being produced from the judge on Friday.
