Dibrugarh: Five days after a female teacher from Philobari Middle School in Tinsukia was forced to kneel before a group of students who protested the increase in costs, public meetings were held at school on Saturday.
The meeting was attended by leading citizens, guardians, parents, past and present students, teachers, academics and representatives from various organizations in all districts.
Ending the unfortunate incident, which has damaged the relationship between students, the speaker at the meeting strongly condemned the incident and appealed to everyone to be careful to prevent the recurrence of the incident in the future.
On Friday, the Assam (AASU) student union expelled one of his leaders, Kararna Buragohain, for allegedly inciting anxious students, which led to a unfortunate incident.
Aasu General Secretary of Sankor Jyoti Baru, in a video message, apologized for the incident.
A video from a woman’s teacher lay on the road with a hands folded in front of students who showed viral on social media, which led to extensive criticism throughout the state.
After the incident, the leaders of several organizations and students of the Philobari region had gone to meet with teachers at his residence, in Philobari, on Friday and apologized to him because of the insult he had liked.
While the state government ordered an investigation into the incident on Friday, Deputy Commissioner Tinsukia has also directed the executive judge of Doomdoma’s revenue circle to conduct an investigation and submit a report within three days.
The probe has begun to find out the details of the people involved in the incident or have incited it.
