Chandigarh: Even though 15 ministers at the LED Minister Charanjit Singh Channi in Punjab took office oaths and confidentiality on Sunday, the main minister had not resolved their portfolio.
Chairman of the Minister of Channi and his two representatives of Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Op Soni were managed by an oath by Punjab Governor of Banware Purohit on September 20 after that the Congress took six days to complete the council of the Minister to Delhi for discussions with high party orders.
Finally, with the last minute replacement, 15 ministers of cabinet, including eight which was part of the Cabinet Amarinder Singh before, took an oath on Sunday.
As if it was not enough, the delay announced the Portfolio of the Council of Ministers reflected the firmness of the minister’s head and pressure on him from various quarters.
This is a very important moment when the Congress government has almost no three months to fulfill its promise before the election behavior guidelines will begin to apply to the subsequent polls of the State Assembly scheduled in February.
The main minister actually led the 3 hour cabinet meeting on Monday morning and after which held lunch for his cabinet colleague.
It was studied that the minister’s chairman was sitting in the office until late afternoon and also held a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Randhawa to resolve the portfolio because of problems about the allocation of several major departments.
The source in Congress claimed that the PPCC President Navjot Singh Sidhu was not happy because Fatehgarh Sahib, Mla Kuljit Singh Nagra had not been accommodated in the cabinet.
Also, Sidhu encouraged the senior advocate case of Deepinder Singh Patwalia for the position of public advocates but finally the state government issued a senior advocate notice Amar Preeth Deol to post on Monday.
But Mohammad Mustafa, former DGP officer and the main strategic adviser to Sidhu, said that the selection of the cabinet and portfolio allocation was the chief of minister and minister’s head to every time seeking advice from AICC or PPCC head.
“The main minister may need time but the leadership of the congress is conventional does not disrupt what the main minister’s prerogative rights are” he said.
“Sidhu is a wise person and he knows he is a party boss.
He doesn’t interfere.
Why is he angry?” He added.
