Mysuru: Reconstruction of Mahadevamma Temple in Huchchagani Village in Nanjangud Taluk began on Wednesday.
The temple was destroyed heeded the court order because illegally built on government land.
This demolition by the Nanjang Taluk government on September 8 has caused an upstream throughout the state.

Nanjangud Mla B Harshavardhan has contributed RS 5 lakh for reconstruction, which BJP legislator said came from his salary.

The villagers have also made trust to recreate the temple.
Harshavardhan announced that construction will be completed in 2023.
“I will offer my prayers to the god before starting the campaign for re-election,” he said.
He also confirmed that he did his best to defend the original temple.
“I have searched for two days from the authorities to take steps to save the temple.
Tahsildar is under pressure to take the necessary actions.
Finally, the rules that apply and officials took the action,” he said.
He also showed that the plan to remove the temple structure began two or three years ago.
