The right-wing forum opposed moving Aloysius College to the name of the park after Swamy’s booth

Mangaluru: Moved by private autonomous college to mention one garden after the Jesuits and tribal activist Stan Swamy’s father had come to opposition from right-wing forums such as ABVP, VHP and Bajrang Dal.
They have threatened the protest stage if the college advanced with the plan.
Chief of VHP, Bajrang Dal and ABVP clothes on Wednesday, against the decision of St Aloysius college management to name the park after the father Swamy.
VHP Zonal Secretary Sharan Pumpwell said that Swamy was arrested under unlawful activities (prevention) act and facing serious charges such as terrorism and naxalisme – for alleged role in the violence Koregoan Bhima.
“This is an insult to the social system to name the park after him,” he said.

He said if the college management advanced with the plan, they will protest.
“The university will be responsible if any unwanted incidents,” he said.
Pumpwell adding they have submitted their opposition to the management of colleges and had submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner K v Rajendra.
ABVP State Secretary said that instead of Stan Swamy Manikanta, college management can be named after personalities like former Union Minister Oscar Fernandes or George Fernandes, who has contributed to the country.
To a query, he said they had no problem if the park is named after Stan Swamy once he is cleared of all charges.
When TOI contacted, REV FR MELWIN JOSEPH Pinto, Rector, St Aloysius Institutions and Vice President, Mangalore Jesuit Educational Society, said, “Based on the advice of police city that President Ram Nath Kovind will visit the city on Thursday, we have postponed the scheduled program for Thursday.
“However, the college refused to comment on the matter.
