Secunderabad: Secunderabad Cantonment MLA G Kaana along with city administration and urban development Special Secretary Head Arvind Kumar will present factual reports to the Ministry of Defense on closed civilian streets and how to close commuter.
Accompanied by representatives of the housing welfare association, the delegation led by Patanna and Arvind Kumar will go to Delhi and submit a report to the Joint Secretary, the Ministry of Defense, demanding all 21 civil walks in the northeastern part of Secunderabad and Cantonment.
At the meeting organized by Wednesday, the closure of civil roads was widely discussed with all stakeholders and what steps to initiate to keep the road open.
Representatives of the Northeast Colony Federation Secunderabad and Green Sainikpuri and other RWA took part in a virtual meeting.
They urged the local military authority to reopen the closed road immediately.
Arvind Kumar said: “Members of the Resident Welfare Association have prepared reports by including the circular and relevant orders issued by defense authorities about the reopening of the streets in the Cantonment area.” He said this report would be submitted to MOD.
“We will explain to the shared secretary of the need to reopen the closed civilians and also highlight the previous mod order on this problem,” he said.
He said even though there was a special order issued by former Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in 2018 to reopen the road and the direction published to the local military authority to follow the procedure, LMA had not followed orders.
“We will impress on mod to reopen the way for the benefit of the commuter,” he said.
Arvind Kumar said: “We have to go with gravity the situation when lakh people face problems because of the closure of the road.
City administration and the minister of urban development KT Rama Rao wants us to take problems and provide assistance to affected people.” He said LMA had closed The road quotes the threat of security and other concerns.
“But we cannot agree that LMA has closed the road used by the people,” he said.
