Two close contacts from the 72-year-old man, someone who came from India who had returned from Zimbabwe on November 28 and was tested positive by Omicron variant, has been positively tested for Covid-19 on Sunday.
They were also allegedly infected with the same variant and admitted in the isolation ward of the G G Hospital.
Last week, other family members had been tested negatively.
But after testing the nine people who came in his close contact, his 45-year-old wife who had come with him from Zimbabwe tested positively.
His 35-year-old brother, who received it at Ahmedabad Airport, was also tested positive Covid.
“They are close contact with patients, who have tested the omicron variant of positive.
We suspect that they are also infected with the same variant.
