Hyderabad: A school teacher is suspected of trying to abuse 4th grade 4th grade students at a school in Chatrinaka on Saturday.
After members of the girl family filed a complaint, the defendant was charged with violating Pocso law, the Youth Justice and IPC Law.
The defendant, 35, was taken to police custody.
The victim came to school around 8am on Saturdays and other students in his class had not yet arrived.
“When the student was alone in the class, the defendant tried to take out his clothes.
When the girl began to shout, the victim was allegedly beaten by the defendant.
The other school staff member then saved the girl,” said Chatrinaka Inspector Syed Abdul Khader.
School authorities told the victim’s family members about the incident and they filed a complaint.
Police said that the defendant seemed mentally disturbed.
