Vadodara: A teacher at the government school in Dahod who was accused of irregular presence for almost a decade was suspended on Wednesday by the District Basic Education officer (DPEO).
On Wednesday, DPEO Mayur Parekh visited the school in Zabu Village from Dhanpur Taluka to get several complaints about Sachinkumar Shah’s teacher.
During the Parekh visit too, Shah was not present at school and took a statement of other school staff, allegations of irregular presence against Shah turned out to be true.
It was also found that Shah used to sign a list book for the date he would miss.
During the period of suspension, Shah has been asked not to leave the village of Zabu and will not be permitted to take other government or private work.
The DPEO Office has received an initial complaint about Shah in July and Taluka Basic Education officers were asked to conduct an investigation and submit a report.
The source said that many accused Shah also run several businesses during school hours.
They added that he was an active BJP worker because he had photographs with the minister who was recently inaugurated by Kuber Dindor and Nimisha Suthar on his social media profile.
The teacher’s wife is a BJP active member and holds the position of Panchayat members too.
