Vadodara: Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) who wants to increase the tax income has requested its officials to make a list of people or companies in each ward that owed the highest number of VMC.
VMC is bound by various ways to view increase its income.
Civic’s body has so far collected RS 440 Crore from various taxes including property tax, professional tax and vehicle tax.
Civil bodies are expected to collect around RS 486 Crore against the previous target RS 483.6Crore.

In a recent meeting to take an overview of income collection, it was decided to identify 20 civil tax trimmers in each environment and ensure the collection of them.
In this way a list of more than 240 absent from 12 wards will be prepared.
The official VMC said that some people did not pay taxes due to disputes.
“This exercise will ensure that the reasons for such disputes are identified and they are resolved,” the official said.
Sources said that most of the delayed income came from government companies.
VMC can only send reminders to them.
In past efforts to recover these taxes has caused a bitter situation.
Sometimes, some government departments remind the VMC of the costs involved in the various services provided by them to VMC every time they are asked to pay taxes.
