Vadodara: The fate of the mandir, was built in 1896 with the cost of Rs 7lakh, today Hang balanced.
Reason? Nobody knows how to utilize the structure of the Thermimus Heritage that once served his time as a high court from the State of Baroda Esptama.
Ahead of the election last year, the state government has given ownership of the mandir to the income department.
However, Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has not owned ownership from the government, while many brainstorming to change the initial plan development of the city museum and other facilities that have occurred.
It was decided again in 2014 that the city museum would be developed at Nyay Mandir and that VMC would work on the project.
Although it may not have a building, functional-functionary VMC – especially those from selected wings of the body of the Civic and the BJP City Unit that regulates VMC – seems to have a different vision about his future.
They don’t seem to be on the same page.
The source said that some in the Civic body argued that the VMC headquarters located in Khanderao Market had to be shifted to the mandir.
The Khanderao Market is also a legacy building, but explodes on stitches and ugly extensions and partitions have been made to accommodate more people or offices.
The latest incident is a shift in the Office of the Personal Assistant (PA) of the Mayor to the extension so that small spaces for the mayor can be accommodated in a place where the PA cabin is there.
Nyay mandir is much bigger and sufficient for the needs of the civil body.
But many objected to this reason that the building would be destroyed as the Khanderao market if the change was made there as needed.
May need an elevator, the electrical line bathroom partition if utilized by VMC.
At the other end, VMC has more than a decade again discussing a new head office plan that has not seen the light of the day.
The Mayor Keyur Rokadiya said that several options had been discussed some time ago.
“We have not yet reached a conclusion.
However, I will meet with the minister’s chairman after Diwali and ask him to ensure that Buidling is left to us earlier,” he said.
The President of the BJP City Unit Dr.
Vijay Shah, who was actively involved in ensuring that inheritance development was handed over to the income department said that VMC had to get the first building and only after that the decision could arrive.
He said that it was possible that the building could accommodate VMC offices and city museum along with other facilities.
The main concern in VMC is the cost involved in building maintenance.
Every time a Civic body is given a building ownership, it will also be responsible for its maintenance.
VMC which lacks money may not be easy to maintain a legacy structure.
