Taipei: The United States has agreed to the possibility of sale of equipment and services of USD 100 million to Taiwan to “maintain, maintain, and improve the” patriot missile defense system used by self-governmental islands claimed by China.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has made a determination to agree to the possibility of foreign military sales to the Taipei economic and cultural representative offices in the United States (Tecro) equipment and services to support participation in the International Patriot Technical Services (IESP) and Field Supervision Program (FSP) for five years , including engineering service support, designed to maintain, maintain, and improve the patriot air defense system with an estimated cost of USD 100 million, “US Defense Security Cooperation Agency said in a statement on Monday (local time).

Meanwhile, Taiwan welcomed US steps to approve USD 100 million sales of weapons.

the move came at a time of tension between China and Taiwan increased.
the relationship between China and the US also deteriorated in several times for various reasons including the Winter Olympic Games of Beijing, the Indo-Pacific and Pandemic Coronavirus.
China has repeatedly threatened Taiwan with invasion and has adopted Aggressive policies to intimidate the island of government itself.
For decades, the Chinese government has claimed authority over Taiwan.
Although Taiwan is not recognized by the United Nations, the government maintains relations with the US and does not accept Chinese authorities.
