Vatican City: Pope Francis will travel to Greece and the country of eastern Mediterranean Island Cyprus on a five-day trip next month, the Vatican confirms Friday.
The Pope will visit Larnaca, Cyprus, from 2-4 December, before traveling to Greece, stopping at Athens and on Lesbos Island, from December 4-6.
The Vatican does not release further details of the trip.
Cyprus legs have been confirmed by Cyprus officials, who said that Pontif will hold talks with Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades.
Francis will be a second Roman Catholic pontist who has traveled to the country of eastern Mediterranean Island.
Francis made a previous trip to Lesbos in 2016 to highlight the fate of the refugees.
He brought him 12 Syrian Muslims to Italy on the charter plane after an emotional visit.
