La Palma: The volcano erupted on the island of Canary Spain La Palma on Sunday, the island government said.
The large column of smoke rose after the eruption at 3.15 P.M.
Local time (1415 GMT) in Cumbre Vieja National Park in the south of the island, according to the Canary Islands government.
