Lucknow: When 2021 ended on Friday, the District Health Authority failed to meet the December deadline to invest the entire Lucknow adult population with a two-dose vaccine course against Covid-19.
They have although it managed to cross the administrative sign of 60 doses of the Lakh vaccine with nearly 23,000 people took a stab on the last day of this year.
About 60.1 dose of the Lakh vaccine was given in Lucknow in 11.5 months after it was launched from the mass immunization drive against Covid-19 on January 16, 2021.
This dose has been used to vaccinate 24.1 people with two shots and partly vaccinate 11.7 lakh with one dose.
This means that 65% of the population of 37.4 lakh aged 18 years and above in Lucknow has been fully vaccinated and 31% are partially vaccinated.
However, 1.6 people lakh (4.3% of the population) have not received shots so far and 11.7 lakh are waiting to get second jab after completing a period of gap 12-16 weeks.
The Ministry of Health must provide more than 15.3 lakh doses to vaccinate the entire population of adults.
In December, on average, nearly 22,000 doses were given every day.
With this speed, it will take two and a half months to cover up the entire population of adults with two dose courses.
However, the task will become more challenging because health authorities must start vaccination around 3.2 lakh teenagers in the age group 15-18 years from January 3.
Furthermore, they will begin to give a booster (third dose) shot to health services and the forefront .
Workers start January 10.
According to officers, the deadline for December 31 to cover the entire population cannot be fulfilled because the additions down from October.
“Many people are still reluctant to take vaccines.
In addition, there are some who have not taken their second dose,” they said.
Cmo Dr.
Manoj Agrawal said, “Our priority now is to discuss those who have not received vaccine shots until now.
