Rajkot: Heist liquor witnessed on Jalan Raya Jetpur-Porbandar after the sedan brought about 15 boxes to meet with an accident with a truck.
The police said that after the unknown car driver hit his vehicle to a truck near the village of Mota Gundala in Jetpur Taluka, he escaped from the place.
But locals and people who pass go berserk and grab a liquor bottle filled in the car.
When the police reached the accident site, only 22 bottles left.
The police suspect that there were 180 bottles of liquor in 15 boxes.
After seizing the remaining sedan and bottles, the police put a watch on the highway and examined all the vehicles to catch those who had stolen liquor bottles.
The police said that four people were identified as Dinesh Miyatra, Mayur Degama, Bhupat Kudcha and Pramul Dabhi were arrested near Dhoraji with 26 bottles.
The other two named Dhaval Ahir and Ravi Mohan were arrested with two bottles near Jetpur.
“While we registered a violation of an unknown car driver, two separate violations registered with those found with bottles of liquor later,” said a police officer.
