Bengaluru: The State Government has no plans to impose a dress code on worshipers who visited the temples under the Ambit, Minister Muzrai Shashikala Jollle said on Tuesday.
Karnataka Dharmik Parisat, a government agency, previously suggested that traditional dresses made mandatory at the Kateel Durgaparameshwari Temple and Temple of Polyal Rajarajeshwari in Dakshina Kannada District.

Parisates make recommendations on rituals, pues and clothing codes in the temple controlled by the government.

Some temples run by the government and private trust have installed a board asking worshipers to maintain dressing codes.
Jolle clarified that the government had not issued a circular like that.
“If the Parisates have made a decision, I will see this problem,” he added.
Jolle announced that the government would apply the recommendation of the sixth payment commission for priests from Group A and B temples.
This step will benefit 1,034 priests.
However, providing a higher salary will depend on increasing temple income.
The revised salary will be given only as far as they do not exceed 35 percent of annual temple income.
In other movements, the government will extend health protection to employees of the Department of Muzraai and Imam from the Category Candi C and D.
