Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has refused the request of a Muslim female student who was allowed to wear a headscarf (head of scarf) along with the student police cadet uniform (SPC), voluntary power operated by the state police.
While rejecting the petition based on the direction of the High Court, the government has quoted that uniform must ensure the dignity of the code dressed in the police and imaginable so that children can work towards gender justice and non-racial and non-religious discrimination among children.
“Combining religious problems with uniforms in the current situation will increase the same demands in the same-functioning power, which will question the discipline and secular survival of strength,” commands issued by the Secretary Joint Department of the House.

The applicant states that it is a refusal of justice if he is prohibited from wearing a uniform with full arms and headscarves in a way that does not violate the SPC project discipline or the rights of others.
However, the police argued that the SPC project was launched with the aim of training secondary school students to evolve as future leaders of democratic society by instilling in themselves respecting the law, discipline, civil reason, empathy for the susceptions of society and resistance for social crime.
“It also aims to create people who respect and strongly believe in the rules of the law, to create a generation that places the nation above all the differences to become a constructive platform between police and students and acts as a feeder organization for Kerala Police.
Therefore, it was decided to have a program Similar training and police uniforms for the SPC project.
In Kerala police, all police personnel wear the same uniform and no religious symbols are permitted in uniforms.
The same system is also followed for the SPC too.
