Vadodara: Some residents of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh (above) and other countries will be a lot of disappointed with the events of the Puja Chhath which is not held for the second year in a row in the city.
Covid-19 guidelines have played reducer as permissions not available for large meetings.
Chhath Puja event held at Fajalpur at Mahi Bank and the pool in the city is the main attraction with residents of Bihar, UP, Jharkhand and Odisha parts joining rituals.
The event at Fajalpur even held a concert featuring Bhojpuri artists.
In the city, larger events were held at Bapod and Kapurai.
Secretary General of Purvanchal Lokhit Mandal, who accommodated Puja in Kamlanagar, Bapod and Padra said that the organization had submitted permission for several days back.
“We were told only now that this event can only be held with 400 participating people.
We need at least 15 days to prepare and may not be ready,” he added that only the event in Padra would be held.
Hindi Vikas Manch (HVM), which organized the biggest event in Fajalpur, has put up banners in the venue stating the incident was not detained as permission not available.
The organizer said that the city police were willing to give permission for 400 people, but the expected crowd was much higher.
However, the organizer of the Fajalpur area, upset on the fact that celebrations and other events were held in the city, but Chhath Puja was limited.
“Lakh bear fruit Pavagdh During Navratri, Garbas was also held in all cities,” Jitendra Rai from HVM accused.
Rai said that he had learned that the minister’s chairman would attend the Puja Chhath in Ahmedabad.
He asked if only 400 people would still be present for the event and there would be no violations.
“The rules must be equal everywhere and for all,” he said.
Police Commissioner Shamsher Singh said that the city police were willing to give permission for the event within the allowed limits.
The source, however, said that some organizers have mentioned a large number in their application for permits that were not a police officer in the position to give.
