Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) has damaged the theft racket where the defendant stole a laptop and cellphone students living in PG accommodation.
Tabrez Iqbal Khan, a resident of Haryana, has been arrested for breaking into PG accommodation in Waghodia Road in the city after the police acted with complaints of theft submitted by students after four laptops, one hard disk worth RS 1.7 lakh was stolen from their room.
The Crime Sleuth branch was informed that Tabrez was involved in crime and the police team then camped in Haryana and traced the defendant.
The defendant revealed the modus operandi and said that he tracked PG accommodation for students on Google before reaching the city.
