Nagpur: After the CBI and Ed, the Income Tax Department (IT) dated the former Minister of State House Anil Deshmukh in Nagpur, Pune and Mumbai on Friday.
The team from the Wing Investigation Department invaded the premise associated with Deshmukh, including his bungalows in civilians.
Operations in Nagpur began between 10 and 11 in the morning, and included a number of locations such as the Office of the Nagpur Technology (NIT) Institute led by Deshmukh, and places in the Katol constituency.
The place of office and an accountant house that was chartered by Kishore Dewani was also raided.
One more rental accountant Ramdaspeth connected to Deshmukh is questioned, said the source.
The team also went to Flat No.
702 at the Rachana Galaxy Upmarket apartment in Shankar Nagar.
This flat has existed in the news in previous cases relating to Deshmukh, including, Adarsh’s flat scam investigation in 2011-12.
The place is sought in Pune and Mumbai with respect to the same case, said the source.
The Director (Investigation) at the Nagpur SS Parida, whose office coordinated Friday’s actions by 130 officers from various cities, declined to comment because the search was still ongoing.
There was no response from the Anil Deshmukh office for official comments, without confirming its existence.
This is the first income tax attack after Covid.
Parida took over as an investigation director about a week ago.
