Apple announced two new MacBooks on the event released.
New MacBooks along with the new M1 Pro and M1 Max Chip brings back several things that are requested by professionals for some time now.
Apple removes all ports from a MacBook laptop in 2016 that supports the Thunderbolt USB port type-c.
However, the new MacBook Pro 2021 engine was announced brought back several ports if not all.
The new Pro MacBook now includes a SD card slot along with three Thunderbolt ports and HDMI ports.
But, not everything is new and shiny here.
The Apple MacBook Pro specification page notes that the HDMI port on the new MacBook is actually HDMI 2.0 instead of HDMI 2.1 which is the latest and best HDMI standard today.
HDMI 2.1 is also much stronger and capable compared to HDMI 2.0.
Simply put, HDMI 2.0 can only handle one 4K monitor at 60Hz, while HDMI 2.1 technology allows users to run a 4K monitor at 120Hz refresh speed.
So, is that a big problem? Well, it is not exact, the MacBook Pro with the M1 Pro chip can handle two 6K screens at 60Hz, M1 Max Powered MacBook can handle three monitors all at 6K, Refresh speed 60Hz.
HDMI port is just a bonus in both cases.
So basically, the new MacBook can run a minimum of three external views at once.
And, it’s more than enough professionally needed.
So, this HDMI 2.0 inclusion may not be as big as the agreement as it seems.
