Rajkot: Lok Darbar held by the Police of Surendranagar resulted in registration of three firs against loanton on Saturday night.
Police Surendranagar, led by Mahendra Bagda police supervisor, holding Lok Darbar to specifically address complaints related to money and land grabbing.
The police also recorded complaints related to other problems.
“Many people from all regencies attend public hearing led by SP Mahendra Bagda at the Police Training Center at the Police Headquarters in Surdendranagar,” HP Doshi, Deputy Police Supervisor (DSP), Surendranasagar, told TII.
Among many who attended Lok Darbar 42-year-old Sajid Chauhan, a distribution at the LPG agent in Surdendranagar.
Chauhan complained about exorbitant flowers charged by four moneylenders – Virendrasinh Dodia, Pruthvirajsinh Parmar, Mahadev Rajput, Kiritsinh.
“In 2019, I borrowed RS 30,000 from Dodia which was reduced by Rs 6,000 as a flower and since then he has collected 18% interest.
I have repaid Rs 1 lakh but he still demands Rs 3 Lakh,” Chauhan said in his complaint.
The complaint was submitted to the Division B police station in the City of Surendranagar and one complaint was submitted at the Muli Police Station against MoneyLenders.
SP Doshi told that around 46 people submitted an application during Lok Darbar.
“Of the six cases related to moneylending, we have filed firefighters in three when the probe has been launched in another case,” Doshi added.
“We have held Lok Darbar every six months for the past two years.
But because of the restrictions of Covid-19, we cannot arrange a year ago,” said a police officer.
