Coimbatory: Three Swab Samples tested positive at the RT-PCR testing facility from Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) were sent to the State Public Health Laboratory (SPHL) in Chennai for the order of genome after they were found with Dropout S-Gene, markers for Omicron.
Samples were collected from the city, said Cmch Dean Dr.

“Samples were taken from two patients in Nanjundapuram and one in Sundakamuthur.
Someone has an international travel history,” he told Toi.
“We told City Corporation about the possibility of omicron variant infections so as to take precautionary measures.
Variants can be identified only through genome sequencing.
We can expect results in a week.” Foreign passengers are strictly played to identify the existence of omicron variants.
The variant was confirmed in a 69-year-old man, who returned from England on December 20.
He was dismissed after treatment.
A 41-year-old man and his 36-year-old wife, who has reached Coimbatore from Sweden on December 12, was found with Dropout S-Gen.
