Rajkot: Three people were arrested by police Kutch on Wednesday to steal peanut oil worth Rs 44 lakh last month.
The police have arrested Maulik Vyas, (22), a resident of Valhel Village in Harij Taluka, Mahendra Thakore (35), a resident of Kamalpur Village in Radhanpur Taluka, and Sanjay Mali from Rajasthan to carry out theft.
The police previously arrested the owner of the Truck Om Prakash and the Mahendra Swami truck driver in this matter.
With the details of the case, the Subhash Morbi, the population of Vadodara, has filed a complaint against Om Prakash and Mahendra Swami for stealing peanut oil worth Rs 44 Lakh.
Morbi has rented Prakash services because it transports oil from Gondal to Bharatpur in Rajasthan.
“On July 16, the OM Prakash truck contained 29 metric tons of peanut oil from Dharti Edible Oil Mill to transport it to the Shreatpur industry in Bharatpur.
On July 18, the Mahendra truck driver called Mori told me that the truck was upside down near the Santalpur Radhanpur,” said A police officer.
Mori immediately rushed to the crash and found very little oil spill which made him suspect the claims of accidents.
On the question, Swami truck driver told Mori that two people took the truck and then he was told about the accident.
“Then, it was revealed that the defendant involved in this conspiracy had lowered 25 tons of oil metrics from tankers and only stored 4 tons in it before being canceled,” police said.
The police have confiscated 21,770 liters of kerosene worth RS 32 Lakh and investigated kasing.
The police have also launched a hunt for accusing Rajesh Limbachiya.
