Hyderabad: Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad Technology Innovation Center (IIT-H) in autonomous navigation (Tihan) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Indian Automotive Research Association (Arai) for collaboration in the field of Indian specific technology development, simulation, verification and real world validation for Advanced driver assistance system and autonomous driving.
Tihan and Arai will jointly promote, research, develop and offer solutions, technology, and practices to industries that enable parties to take advantage of their abilities by synergistic.
“Collaboration will contribute significantly to safe and sustainable autonomic mobility solutions in the Indian context and provide greater insights about Tihan activities, along with renewal of autonomic navigation (aerial / terrestrial) testbed on campus,” said Prof.

This collaboration will also promote innovation ecosystems, skills development and entrepreneurial activities in the field of autonomous navigation systems.
“This collaboration will further strengthen the ability and activities of Arai in the field of smart mobility.
Arai has been looking for a way to disseminate knowledge in a structured and want to offer a shared program,” said Director of Reji Mathai, Arai.
Tihan in IIT-H focuses on the research, design and development of autonomic navigation systems and data acquisition systems for UAV, ROV etc.
“Tihan was established with a vision of supporting activities related to autonomic navigation which will make India as a leader in this case the domain.
Tihan will be at the forefront of designing technology, protocols, testing and validation through testbed, which will be inaugurated immediately,” said Prof.
