Trichy: Trichy City Police, on Thursday, ordered five people and arrested one of them forced a 15-year-old girl to a child’s marriage.
All female police stations (AWP), Cantonment arrested a 27-year-old man from Edamalapattipudhur in the city because he forcibly married a 15-year-old girl from the Lalgudi area.
The police also ordered the parents of the girl and the man under the 2006 Children’s Marriage Law and the police took action based on a complaint from a Gowri officer, 58 from the Department of Social Welfare in the Manikandam Block in Trichy.
Police Inspector, Anandi Vedhavalli, on Friday, said that the man was far relative to the girl’s family.
Both families decided to get married even though the girl became an underage child.
Vedhavallil further said that marriage behavior, held in May17, was stored under a wrap.
“The family of both decided to arrange reception for both.
They print invitations and share them with everyone so bring a wedding with light,” the inspector said.
In receiving information anonymously, Gowri filed a complaint after that the police arrested the man.
The rest escape and be sought, the inspector said.
The girl was saved and handed over to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Trichy.
