Chennai: Division of the South Chennai Railway has launched a car tower, which can be operated on batteries and overhead power, to carry out cable inspections, maintenance and repair and power overhead equipment, on Wednesday.
The emu car was shed in Avadi, building a self-friendly self-prakriti tower car by changing the old motorbike coach an emu.
Emu’s car warehouse, Avadi has changed the Old Emu motorcycle coach to become an OHE battery-powered tower car for Ohe’s inspection, maintenance and hotline monitoring.
It is equipped with two set batteries as in AC III Tier Coaches, wardrobe tools, crew break areas, inspection booms, safety equipment and others.
The tower car will be able to run for 11 hours in half the power and three and a half hours and full strength.
The general manager of the South Railway John Thomas inaugurated the tower car on the sixth platform from the Mgr Chennai Central train station.
