Chennai: At the meeting early on Friday, Chengalpet police shot dead two people who had hacked two other men in Gangland’s murder on Thursday.
The police said they opened fire in self-defense after the murder accused the country’s bomb thrown in them when surrounded in forest areas in Tirupulivanam in Chengalpet Regency.
Two police officers were injured.
Those who were killed were identified as s Moideen, 23 and Dinesh, 24, both of them from Chengalpet.
The police said both and other men, Madhavan had shocked the death of M Karthik, 27, at the Chengalpet Old Bus Stand on Thursday morning and then killed his cousin, Mahesh, after covering his house nearby.
Police said Karthik and Mahesh had attacked Dinesh a few days ago and he replied by killing them.
The allegations of the murder tried to escape, the country bomb thrown in the police, the two gangs have been in Loggerhead since 2018.
Police Kancheepuram previously arrested Madhavan and a woman, Jesintha, who got them the country bombs they used in attack on Karthik.
Based on the information they were provided, the police team was surrounded by dinesh and moideen at the location of the forest along the National Highway Chennai-Trichy on Friday.
P Aravindan, Chengalpet SP, said both tried to escape by throwing state bombs in the police.
When the police closed them, they attacked the police with machetes.
Constable Suresh’s head and Constable Bharath was injured in the attack.
The Ravikumar inspector then opened the fire, killing dinesh and moideen.
Moiden was involved in three murder cases, while Dinesh was involved in one case, police said.
