Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu State Transport Department (TNSTC) and the Department of Religious Endowment and Hindu Amal (HR & CE) have started preparatory work to continue the operation of Monday.TSTC will operate 511 buses – 324 City buses and 187 bus Mofussil – from Coimbatore, said an official.
“We have decided to operate half of the fleet in the district.
Most Mofussil buses will be operated to Madurai, Trichy, Salem and Palani.
Each bus will do two travel a day.” The driver and conductor have been instructed to ensure that only 50% of seats are occupied.
“We have asked the conductor not to allow anyone without a mask,” the official said.
“We have started a maintenance work and repair a week ago and almost finished.
Close to 90% of the driver and conductor have taken their first vaccine dose and 40% of them have taken the second dose.” Meanwhile, the HR department & CE began cleaning the temple on the temple Saturday.
