Hyderabad: KT City Minister Rama Rao said the Government TRS had spent RS 14,880 crores in the last seven years which more than 400 times more than the expenditure of the Congress Government of Rs 3,934 Crore at the work of the construction of the old city in 10 years between 2004 and 2014.

In about 45 minutes replying to a short discussion about the development of the old city in the assembly on Monday, the Minister explained the construction work taken in the Old City which included seven assembly segments in Hyderabad Lok Sabha and one assembly segment (nampally) in Secunderabad Lok Sabha.
He replied to the problem filed by MLAS Akbaruddin Owaisa, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and T King Singh about the problems of the old city.
KTR announced that the TRS government is committed to carrying metro rails to the old city in the next two years.

The City Minister announced that efforts would be made to bring the recognition of the World Heritage to Golconda – Tombs and Deccan Park Pedestrian Path-Corridor with the help of AGA Khan Foundation and also QUTUB QUTUB Shah Urban Development Authority (Qqsuda).
He said special emphasis was given by the government for the beauty and rejuvenation of the Musi River.
“The government proposes to build 14 new bridges throughout Musi without disturbing the Heritage and Musi architecture.
We have initiated a design competition for the bridge,” Ktr said.
Acknowledging there was slow progress on the work of Charminar Pesestrianization (CPP), the minister said the plan was to develop places around Charminar on the lines of gold temple in Amritsar.

“Around 33 crores are spent on the project and other RS 70 Crore will be spent finishing work,” he said.
The minister announced Qqsuda, who was dead now, will be given works such as CPP, expensive Sardar restoration work, Miralamandi and Miralam Tank.

When MLA demanded widening road activities to be accelerated in the old city regardless of other projects such as Metro Rail, KTR said as many as 40 roads taken for widening and 21 had been completed.
Under the Strategic Road Development Program (SRDP), seven projects at a cost of Rs 1,545 Crore have been subject to sanctions and are ongoing, “he explained.
