Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he had been tested positive for Covid-19.
Erdogan on Saturday tweeted that he was infected by the omicron virus variant.
The president said he and his wife had covid-19 mild symptoms, added that he would continue his work at home.
The number of Covid-19 cases daily in Turkey almost doubled since the beginning of January, because the omicron variant cases increased rapidly throughout the country, the Xinhua news agency reported.
