New Delhi: Approved the Decree of the Noida Authority to choose Edifice engineering based on Mumbai-based companies to carry out the demolition of two-storey 2 towers in the Zamrud Housing Project, the Supreme Court on Monday directing Supertech to implement contracts and get approval from all authorities related to two weeks.
As a real estate company told the judicial bench D y Chandrachud and Surya Kant that NOC would be needed, including to use explosives for demolition, the court directed it to do what was needed so that demolition could begin immediately after two weeks.
Supertech also agreed to start returning home to home buyers without further delay.
It is said that there are differences in calculations carried out by him and Amicus Curiae regarding the amount to be returned to the buyer of the house and ready to withdraw the amount as calculated by it.
The bench, afterwards, allows the company to restore the number, but makes it clear that it will not reduce the claims of home buyers and the final number will be decided on Friday.
The APEX court on August 31 was given three months to the company to destroy the tower consisting of around 1,000 flats, which were built contrary to various rules and regulations including safety and fire norms.
The time period ends in November-end but the demolition work has not even begun.
The demolition work must be carried out by the company at its own expense under the supervision of Noida officials.
The court has also directed Noida to consult with experts and experts themselves from the Central Building Research Institute in Rookee to do demolition work.
More than 950 flats will be built in the twin towers where construction is carried out for up to 32 floors when the High Court of Allahabad first ordered their demolition in 2017.
A total of 633 home buyers had ordered flat in twin towers, where 248 had taken refunds and 133 shifted to other housing projects SuperTech.
