Vadodara: The Vadodara crime branch on Tuesday ordered two people previously arrested in the alleged anti-conversion racket at Uttar Pradesh, to promote hostility between various religions and provide legal assistance to the Protestor of Anti-Citizenship Amendment (CAA) in Delhi.
A team of police officials will soon go to take custody of Salahuddin Sheikh, a resident of Vadodara, and Mohammed Umar who was arrested in June this year.
“After the Duo was arrested, we began investigating Sheikh funding and conducting a detailed forensic audit of his belief account.
Sheikh has Rs 19 Crore through foreign funding in the past three years and has divert money for conversion of funds, communal riots in Delhi and help the anti-CAA protesters , “said a senior police officer.
Sheikh and his accomplices were used to get foreign donations in city-based AFMI beliefs to help widows, buy food kits, fund hospitals and also for covid pandemics.
“The defendant made a fake bill and showed payment for this social cause while diverting funds to other bank accounts before abusing it for personal interests,” police officials told toi.
Police said that Sheikh also got another RS5 crore through Hawala in recent years.
“About Rs 5.91 Crore used for conversion racquets and building mosques in Gujarat and other countries.
Almost Rs 60 Lakh was transferred to provide legal assistance to the defendant who was arrested in anti-CAA protests and communal riots in Delhi,” said The police.
“The defendant made a fake bill of Rs 1.65 Crore through AFMI Trust and used cash for conversion activities.
Our team will soon go to get detention Duo,” said Shamsher Singh, Commissioner of the City Police.
ATS ATS has captured MD Umar and Qazi Jahangir on June 21 on charges of mass conversion people through persuasion such as marriage or work.
Umar is thought to have repented more than 1,000 people in that state and also allegedly involved in the conversion of deaf and mute students, women and children.
During their interrogation, the police knew that the Salahuddin Bank account was used for Hawala transactions.
Sheikh is the AFMI Trust Trustee and has played an important role in starting the Muslim Medical Center in the city.
