Two get 20 years in prison for smuggling opium poppy

Vadodara: A truck driver and cleaning of Punjab are punished by special NDPS (narcotics of drugs and psychotropic substances ACT), Monday for smuggling opium poppy worth RS 1.2 Crore in June 2014.
Two convicts – Baldev Singh aka Deba Jat and Jasminder Singh MajBisikH – Arrested by the Vadodara Rural Police Special Operations Group (SOG) on June 12, 2014, from Jalan Vadodara-Halol to transport 3,000 kg of opium poppy.
The police have searched for their trucks because of suspicion because the truck did not have a registration number on the side and return.
Opium Poppy was confiscated and the sample was sent to the FSL in Gandhinagar for investigations.
The duo was arrested and ordered under the NDPS law at the Waghodiya police station.
Then the owner of the Singh Majispish Beans truck was also arrested.
During the trial, the additional public prosecutor R S Chauhan submitted a FSL report that has confirmed that the substance found from the truck is Opium Poppy.
Seventeen witnesses and material evidence was also examined.
However, prosecution cannot submit concrete evidence against Bealant Singh.
Special NDPS court assesses H i Bhatt to enforce the evidence and testimony of Baldev Singh and Jasminder Singh and impose a rigorous prison sentence of up to 20 years and also dispaped each of the Rs 1 Lakh.
The court released Beans Singh gave him the benefits of doubts.
