Palanpur: Two people were arrested on Monday and Mephedrone, illegal drugs, worth Rs 26 lakh confiscated from their aroma circle in Palanpur in Banskantha district, a police officer said.
The special operating group team (SOG) caught the two people when they were heading to Rajasthan from here on a private bus, he said.
The bus comes from Ahmedabad.
Acting on the tip-off, the SOG team led by Inspector Dr.
Gadhvi was looking for a bus and arrested the two accused, Gorkharam Jat and Jogaram Jat, both of them were praised from Barmer in Rajasthan, and won 260 GM from Oly’s Owned Goods worth Rs 26 Lakh of their ownership, said the official.
According to the deputy supervisor of Sushil Agarwal police, “the name of one more person involved in drug smuggling has been revealed by two accused of being arrested.” Mephedrone, also known as ‘Meow Meow’ or MD, is a synthetic stimulant.
The defendant was ordered with the provisions of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substance Law (NDPS), the official said.
Last week, in one of the largest heroin in India, the authorities confiscated around 3,000 kg of medicine, which was believed to be from Afghanistan and deserved the RS 21,000 Crore in the global market, from two containers at the Port of Mundra in Kutz Gujarat Kutmen, the previous official said.
