Thiruvananthapuram: Paloda Police on Friday arrested two young men who invoke allegations under the protection of children from sexual violations (Pocso) acting for allegedly raping a little girl.
The defendant was identified as Nikhil, 19, from Pulippara near Kadakkal and Muhammed Irfan, 19, Mukundasseri.
The police said the victim in this case was a second girl accused of sex through the Instagram social media application.
The police launched the probe after the girl’s parents called them on Thursday midnight and complained that she was missing from home.
The police then found the girl from Theriyil near Palode.
The girl told them that the two defendants took her out of the house quietly on Thursday night.
They allegedly took him to the nearby school building and made him sexually.
Then, they dropped it in Elavupalam and fled.
The police traced the defendant using a telephone number from where they contacted the girl and they were detained.
The arrest was recorded by a team led by Palanode Station House Inspector C K Manoj under the supervision of Nedumangad ASP Raj Prasad.
