Vadodara: Vadodara has begun registering more than two positive cases of Covid-19 every minute.
On Thursday, Covid-19 cases in the city of Vadodara and the district touched one more day with 3,094 cases within 24 hours – almost 129 cases every hour.
Covid-19 cases Thursday is the highest registered by Vadodara since the beginning of the pandemic two years ago.
In fact, at 3,094 cases, new cases more than three times the number of cases registered on May 7 last year when the city and district have seen the second wave peak in 989 cases.
In other words, the day after the number of fresh Covid-19 cases has doubled from the peak of the second wave, new cases are now three times the second wave peak.
The level of participants has surged almost 7%.
Against the 20% participant level registered on Wednesday when 2,252 of 11,162 samples have been tested positively, the pioneering rate jumped to 36.61% with 3,094 of 11,623 positive coronavirus test samples.
In terms of urban-rural division, at 2,723 new cases, the city of Vadodara registered more cases compared to Vadodara’s countryside which shares 371 of a total of 3,094 new cases.
The city only counted nearly two Covid-19 cases every minute.
With this, the total number of cases from the beginning of the pandemic is getting closer to 90,000 (89,440 precisely).
The official death toll on the other hand remained at 624.
With the release on Thursday standing at 1.084, the total amount disposed of rose to 77,281.
The active case was also at all times height at 11,535 where 11,291 was under house isolation while 244 was hospitalized.
From those who were hospitalized, 12 were being treated under the ventilator / BI-PAP, 79 needed oxygen support, 46 received in the ICU but without ventilators, while 107 did not require oxygen support.
12,376 individuals are under quarantine.
Going by VMC health bulletin, the West Zone continued to be affected by 832 new cases that took the total number of positive Covid-19 cases in this zone to 16,576.
The South Zone VMC added 811 new cases after the total in this zone reached 15,777.
The North and East zone each added 647 and 433 new cases.
The total number of cases in the North Zone has now touched 15,677 while the total in the East Zone was at 12,905.
