Hyderabad: Two passengers arriving at international airports here are positively tested for Covid-19 and their samples have been sent to the sequencing of the genome to test the new Stars-COV-2 variant variant, the state government said on Friday.
Previously, 13 international passengers were tested negative for Omicron after the government strengthened the testing mechanism at the international airport, among other steps, after the threat of a new variant.
Meanwhile, Telangana on Friday reported 207 new Covid-19 cases, pushing the calculation to 6,77,954, while the death toll rose to 4.004 with one more death.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) contributed most of the new cases with 82, followed by Ranga Reddy (19) and Karimnagar (16) of the district, said a state government bulletin, gave details at 5:30 this afternoon.
It was said 196 people recovered from infectious diseases.
The cumulative amount of recovery until the date is 6,70,053.
The number of active cases is 3,897.

The case of fatalities and recovery rates in their respective countries are at 0.59 percent and 98.83 percent, he added.
