Letter: After a positive Covid-19 case surge among the residents, two city housing apartments were declared the detention zone by the Ministry of Health Municipal Corporation (SMC).
On Sundays, SMC has stated two housing apartments as a detention zone.
The Aavishkar residency in the Piplod area and the Shukan residency was declared the detention zone on Monday.
A total of 12 people living in Tower B from the Aavishkar residency were tested positive for Covid-19 in the last ten days.
Of the 12 positive cases, four came from the 14-18 year age group.
Of the eight remaining, seven were fully vaccinated while one was vaccinated in part.
All positive people are under house isolation and have mild symptoms.
“Positive people do not have a big illness,” said a Health Officer for Municipal Corporation (SMC).
Even though the reported case from one, both the housing complex tower has been declared a detention zone.
“Although there are no cases in the tower, the two buildings have been declared the cluster area and sealed by SMC.
A health and marshal security team has been posted in the building to ensure that the population follows quarantine norms,” the officer added.
Of the 22 flats at B Tower 19 are occupied and a total of 76 people live in the building.
In the tower side by side with Tower 20 of 22 is occupied and 56 people live in it.
From the Hukan residency, two positive cases have been reported since Tuesday.
A total of 185 residents who lived in 46 flat apartments had been quarantined.
Two housing apartments will be sealed for the next ten days.
Detention restrictions will be extended if more cases are reported in the coming days, officials get information.
The health team in the building will test residents at regular intervals.
Previously Sumeru Silverleaf in Pal and Megh Mayur Apartment in Athwaline was declared the cluster area on Sunday after several cases reported from two housing buildings.
It was almost after one and a half months that the Ministry of Health began declaring the entire building as a cluster area.
